2 Instructional Writers Are Needed...

Project Location:

Onsite at a NE Atlanta Facility. (NO TELECOMMUTING)

Project Description

The writers selected for two projects will work with the development project
manager and lead instructional designer to create the framework; write the
snapshot and solutions modules; and design and write the introductions and
summaries incorporating links to purchased content for courses in the sales
and distribution division of a Fortune 50 Company. These courses are
delivered on a proprietary, web-based distance learning (DL) delivery
system.

The writers will go through an orientation session with a development
project manager, lead instructional designer, and any other (DL) team
members who will work closely with them. At this session, they should
expect to gain access to project requirements and source materials, receive
an explanation of the standards and conventions, and review the project
plan. As a result of this session, the writers will know his or her role,
the deliverables for which he or she is responsible, and the milestones he
or she will be expected to achieve.

Tasks:

- Help build the framework following the (DL) design specifications and/or
prototype
- Write the snapshot and solutions modules and help design the remaining
modules for the courses being developed
- Build new or convert existing materials to the accommodate distance
learning enviroment
- Interview subject-matter experts and create new material using this input
- Identify new and existing graphics, submit requests to the graphics
production program manager, review and incorporate completed graphics
- Followin project style guidelines, verify correct spelling and grammar,
consistent use of terminology, and adherence to course objectives
- Following an established process, identify, gain approvals for using, and
verify initial functioning of navigation elements and of internal and/or
external links
- Make corrections to materials they develop based on reviews by peer
reviewers, editors, subject-matter experts, and functional testers
- Attend technical meetings/reviews and provide weekly status updates to the
development project manager

Skills Required:

-Some instructional design skills and strong instructional writing skills
for multimedia self-paced instruction
- Information mapping techniques to organize content
-Dreamweaver in a Windows environment
-Conduct research independently using subject-matter via SMEs, project
source material, Internet, and so on.
- Interpret a course design specification and/or prototype
-Visualize concepts using graphics or video
- Write self-check items, test questions, survey questions, exercises,
andcase studies.
- Be a team player
-Anticipate problems and engage in problem solving.

- LinkBot
-Word Pro
-PaintShop Pro or PhotoShop
-Experience in financial markets, health care, and retail banking
