Subject:Details on the Northern VA job op From:Metzger Karen <Metzger_Karen -at- PRC -dot- COM> Date:Tue, 24 Aug 1999 15:48:11 -0400
Someone asked for details... forgive me for not being more specific. Got
popcorn? Lights, camera.....
Where: Crystal City (Arlington, VA)--5 miles (give or take) west of D.C.
What: Technical Writer
What that means: In this case it means that you need to be able to
WRITE--not just edit--and be flexible, and learn, and work on a team with a
bunch of great people. You must be fluent in English, and you will often
have to make sense of poorly written documentation from programmers who are
great at programming, but horrible at English, or conveying thoughts, or
structuring a document.
FT/PT: Not sure yet whether this position will be full- or part-time. My
thought is: perhaps we make it FT if there is enough work (and there may
well be). Otherwise, find someone willing to job share with me so we can get
this job done cooperatively. Or it may be 30 hours/week.... again, this is
not an official opening, but it probably will be very soon.
Who: Litton/PRC, 401-K matching, cafeteria benefits, really wonderful folk
to work with.
Quals: I don't think we need to be too picky if we find someone with the
skills and flexibility we need. PRC likes folks with degrees, but when you
shake their hand anything can happen (I don't have one and my work is very
highly regarded).
Need to know more?
Speak up!
