I recently wrote on some problems that are associated with the
Insert Pages command, in response to a question posted on the Framers'
list. Interactive features can certainly be damaged; if you have no choice
but to merge PDFs in Acrobat Exchange, insert links in the merged file,
rather than in the individual files prior to merging them.

(two other problems mentioned - dependent on configuration/setup and fonts
used - were file size of the merged file and/or missing characters in the
merged files; both in Acrobat 3 and 4).

Possible reasons include:
- Type 3 fonts (switch to the problematic pages and inspect the File >
Document Info > Fonts dialog box)
- White ("invisible") text or graphic layers
