Why partition the hard drive at all? It does not gain you any space. It does
not gain you any protection.

I just can not see why it would be of any benefit al all.

For the applications you are planning 6-10 sounds kinda small in August of
1999. 12 - 17 GB is standard, and Dell now ships with 20.4 GB drives.

Don't forget, Office 2000 is maximum bloatware.

I would say, never mind the partitioning of the hard drive, there is no
benefit. Go for the maximum RAM and hard disk drive size you can afford.
