Hi Folks,

I live in a corner of the world where industry commerce and technology are
not exactly thick on the ground. Hence the prospect of being able to bid on
worldwide jobs via an internet auction is a valuable one.

In my function as translator I've recently been contacted by a new internet
based "marketplace" for contract writing jobs. It's at
http://www.myconduit.com, and has only been in place for a few days, so
there's no track record yet.

But that contact brings up a question that I'd like to put to list members.
While the internet auction of things is old hat, bringing buyers and
sellers together in an auction of services seems somewhat less
straightforward. And so the prospect of being able to bid worldwide on
writing contracts has as far as I'm aware, remained a mostly a prospect.

Or am I wrong? Is there a site (maybe even several??) which already has a
successful track record in bringing clients and freelancers together, in an
on-line auction format, for contracts in translating/technical
writing/copywriting and similar jobs?

Any personal experiences, recommendations?

Cheers & thanks
