There is a shareware icon package called 'Michaelangelo' (or thereabouts).
I tried the bmp-to-ico thing and it didn't work for me either. This package
does
a lot more for icons than I knew were ever necessary. You should be able to
find this on www.shareware.com or one of those other sites.
