The following response pretty much sums up the
sentiment of the dozen or so responses that I received
on this question:

I had already rewritten the sentence, having a feeling
that I would receive the answers that I did:

"The processes described in the FRS are broken down by
software products, which run on the target hardware."

I'm not sure I like "broken down", but it is for
internal use only, it sure beats the hell out of
decomposed, and I really don't have the time to rewite
the 150 pages of content from scratch.
