the Visual QuickStart guide to Acrobad from Peachpit
Press also got raves: in addition to being invaluable,
it's also inexpensive - a decided plus.

I haven't used either of these, but the reviews at Amazon.com don't look all that encouraging; they're pretty clearly aimed at a beginner. I'm comfortable making PDFs, doing links, and creating my own stamps. I want to learn the functions past that, and I want to learn cool tricks.

One person mentioned The Acrobat Bible by Ted Padova,
which is thorough but also didn't address the fuzzy
graphics question.

The reviews on Amazon.com for this one seemed to suggest that it was _very_ heavily Mac-oriented. Unfortunately for this book, I'm a Window user.

Does anyone know anything about "Postscript and Acrobat/Pdf Bible : Applications, Troubleshooting and Cross-Platform Publishing" that was supposed to come out from Springer-Verlag in November 1999? That sounds promising, but it's apparently overdue to be published.
