Barb,
I have always used Paint Shop Pro from Jasc software for screen captures. It
allows you to control the capture; you can choose between the entire screen,
an active window, or a selected area. You can save in any common format, and
it has modest editing capabilities.
The learning curve for version 5 and older has been reasonably shallow. I
have not looked at the latest version, but have been told that there is a
significant jump in the interface complexity making it more difficult to
learn for people who work with older versions.
The price is less than $150, and you can try it out for 30 days free. Go to
www.Jasc.com to learn more.
Thanks,
Dan Charles
