RE: use of "however"

According to Strunk & White's 'The Elements of Style' (3rd edition),
"however" takes on a different meaning at the start of sentence ("in
whatever way" or "to whatever extent").

However you place "however", might be OK with you. I, however, was always
taught to put "however" after the word or phrase that emphasizes the
contradiction with the previous idea. (Note that the emphasis is different
if I say: I was always taught, however, ....).
