If the word is setting up the sentence to modify the previous thought,
use a semicolon to join the sentences.
Before: "That was the best toothpaste sandwich ever. However, I need to
step outside for a moment."
After: "He really seemed to enjoy his sandwich; however, he also left in
quite a hurry."
