You might consider using UML (Unified Modeling Language). It is a modeling
standard that is quickly gaining traction in the software development world.

Daigrams created to UML standards _should_ be intuitive enough for people
with little UML knowledge to understand, and those with UML knowledge will
greatly appreciate your use of it.

Do a search for UML and VB. There are many UML tools available, many have
trial versions, some have free limited feature versions.
