Mark Maloney writes that he is planning to move to Lund, in Sweden.

Mark, commuting from Lund to Copenhagen is now a definite possibility, with
very frequent train service across the Sound from Malmo to Copenhagen. So
you should not restrict your search to Sweden only. For convenience, if you
work in Copenhagen, it might be easier to live in Malmo and have your
partner commute to Lund, which should be easy.

The job market for technical writers in the Copenhagen area is not as good
as it was 6 months ago. For example, Intel announced last night that it is
closing its entire operations here, which means firing 4-500 people,
including a lot of technical writer. That is why it is good to have a
larger geographical area to look in. When we were laid off 6 months ago by
Navision Software, after a merger, one of my good friends (who lives in
Copenhagen) got a job as a copywriter in Malmo. She is now moving to a job
in Copenhagen for various reasons, but the commute was actually not bad.

As for writing in English, I believe that most technical writing in Denmark
is in English, and I assume the same is true of Sweden. I would be happy to
correspond off-line about what it is like.

I, too, would be interested in hearing from any list members in southern
Sweden because I think it would be good to build up a stronger professional
community in this region.
