And a Gooooooood Morning to you too, even though it is the middle of the
afternoon on this side of the pond.

As I have mentioned in a previous post on this subject stress is what you
let it become. Remember you are in control of your own stress level. If
you let it, stress will eat you up and spit you out a jibbering jelly the
other end. You need to take control and let the bad wash over you, easier
said than done, but worth taking the time to learn as it pays dividends in
your working and more importantly in your personal life. I've been there
and worn the tee shirt, waking up at 3am worrying about deadlines and
targets. Now when I finish the working day I leave the job at work until
the next working day, my life at home is for my family not my employer.

Key advice that has worked for me is:

1. Learn to laugh at yourself, others do so why not join them?
2. Stop feeling so self important, you are a small cog in a larger
machine and everyone is not waiting on your opinion, so don't get uptight
when they won't jump to adopt your ideas. If something really doesn't seem
right put it in writing and send it to everyone who needs to know, if they
choose to ignore your advice and it turns to rats**t, just pull out the
letter and say 'I told you so'. Maybe next time they will listen but don't
lose any sleep over it.
3. Stop worrying about your tools, a bad work person always blames
their tools.
4. When things are going bad, do something else and then come back to
it. It's surprising how easy the solution then becomes.
5. Eat, Drink (non-alcoholic of course) and be merry for
tomorrow.......who knows!

Regards
John Nutting
