I realize that the question was posed facetiously, and I have thought of
several equally facetious responses to give. But in all seriousness, I think it
can make a difference what you wear for a phone interview. Not to the
interviewer, but to you.

There is some evidence to suggest that how you dress affects how you feel and
how you act. The more casually you dress, the more casually you may act, and
conversely the more formally you dress the more formally you act.

FWIW, I would recommend not dressing down for a phone interview. Dress at least
up to the level of office casual. Frankly, it might be a good idea for guys to
go to a coat and tie and gals to whatever business attire they have. You want
to feel comfortable, feel professional, feel relaxed, and feel alert. These
things will come through in a phone interview, in my opinion, so you want to
consider them. Take a phone interview too casually and you might not get the
face-to-face you want.

Just my, ahem, casual opinion. <g>
