Kim,

The good news this is easy to fix. The bad news is it's expensive to fix.

>From your symptoms, it appears that you are running Acrobat 4.0 on your systems. You should have upgraded to 4.05 a long time ago. Now, however, you may no longer be able to get the upgrade from Adobe and may be forced to purchase Acrobat 5. Check with Adobe to be sure.

The alternative is to make a global change from Times to Times New Roman or to replace the Times TTF fonts with Times Type 1 fonts. That may be cheaper in the short run (or may not--I haven't done the math); but it will not prevent the problem from appearing later with different fonts.
