Dick,

Thank you so much for your help. I'll talk with my manger about changing fonts
globally. I guess I should have included the information about my version of
Acrobat - we ARE using Acrobat 5 - and the associated patch downloaded from the
Adobe site. Does this make any difference in the fix?

Kim

Kim,

The good news this is easy to fix. The bad news is it's expensive to fix.

>From your symptoms, it appears that you are running Acrobat 4.0 on your systems.
You should have upgraded to 4.05 a long time ago. Now, however, you may no
longer be able to get the upgrade from Adobe and may be forced to purchase
Acrobat 5. Check with Adobe to be sure.

The alternative is to make a global change from Times to Times New Roman or to
replace the Times TTF fonts with Times Type 1 fonts. That may be cheaper in the
short run (or may not--I haven't done the math); but it will not prevent the
problem from appearing later with different fonts.

Good luck,

Dick
