TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
John Posada writes:
However, if you know Siebel, you know that there are many views and
many flavors of the same view, many of which you "COULD" launch a
script, though it isn't the place from where the developers designed
it to be run.
----
Stefanie responds:
If there are other places from which you CAN launch a script without an error, perhaps you could note them in passing. For example, "You can also run this script from the XXX view, the XXX view, and the XXX, but not the XXX view." If it does work in some views, I can see your desire to share that information. I have invariably found that "do not" often gets confused in the minds of users (myself included), and it can often be converted to "do" unconsciously.
