I've thought about it, but I really don't even know how to go about locating them. Most of the writers I've heard about (and the one I've met) all work at a remote facility a few miles from here at the main campus.

I'd recommend that you spend some time looking up your colleagues and
getting to know each other. No need to form a union or split off into your
own department or anything drastic: just get together and sound each other
out on life at AMD. Who knows what good things could come out of this?
