Hope this helps, but a quick search on Google came up with:

OC-n - A fundamental unit of 51.840 Mbps in the SONET hierarchy, with "n"
representing the integral multiples. The most common values of "n" are 1, 3,
6, and 12. "OC" indicates that this is an optical signal. Compare with
STS-n.

STS-n: A fundamental unit of 51.840 Mbps in the SONET hierarchy, with "n"
representing the integral multiples. The most common values of "n" are 1, 3,
6, and 12. "STS" indicates that this is an electrical rather than optical
signal.
