Hi all,

I heard the report too and decided that a credit check **can be** another
piece of information a employer can gather about a potential employee. It
may not matter to an employer how you pay your bills, but it could say
something about how you manage the paperwork accompanying your job, expense
reports, time sheets, invoices etc. That said, these days there are many
who through no fault of their own end up with horrible credit reports. I
think the person checking should give the potential employee an opportunity
to explain a bad credit report. This would also indicate how they would
handle difficult stuff in the office.

And yes, the credit report industry should be managed by laws and
regulations. They have too much power too easy to abuse.
