Hah! Dun and Bradstreet....
Once, when a client was extremely late in paying me, just for
kicks I called up Dun and Bradstreet and asked how I could go
about filing a negative credit item against the company. I
figured that if the shoe were on the other foot and I personally
owed them money, they wouldn't hesitate to report me to the
credit bureaus, so I decided I'd return the favor.
The person I reached at D&B couldn't answer my question, so they
took my message, and a few days later some kind of sales rep
left a message on my machine saying that he wasn't sure what I
was asking (!)
I guess the corporate credit-reporting system is nothing like
the vast automated machinery wielded against consumers.
Regards,
Mike O.
