A lot of the people we work for have some shoddy *corporate*
financial histories. But we go ahead and work for them anyway,
because they have what we want (a job, money, professional
opportunity, etc.)
Lots of executives, CEOs and even CFOs have corporate track
records that include financial wreckage, bankruptcy, judgments,
etc.
If you avoided all companies that had a few botched deals in
their history, and only worked for companies with a "perfect"
financial record, you'd soon have nobody left to work for.
Bad credit doesn't necessarily mean you haven't "exercised some
responsibility." Half of all personal bankruptcies are caused by
medical bills. It's scary how many business models now are
totally dependent on late fees, and high rates for "sub-prime"
customers. There is now a huge financial incentive for consumer
service companies to deliberately maintain a large pool of
people with "bad" credit ratings.
