One of the most important functions of a technical writer is to identify the
best approach for presenting information to the users. Is your audience
composed of people who like getting their instructions this way? In my
experience even the most bookish people prefer getting instructions in clear
and concise steps. Find out why they are using this style. If they just
followed what the previous writer recommended, then this is a great
opportunity for you to show your company the value of a real technical
writer.
