If you're viewing your Word file using View|Print Layout and you've set the
section break to Odd Page and you don't see a blank page between the two
sections, go to Tools and select the 'White space between pages (Print view
only) option. Word does insert a blank page between sections if the Odd Page
section break is selected when you execute Insert|Break.
When you go to View|Header and Footer, you can set the odd and even headers,
IF you've previously gone to File|Page Setup|Layout and selected the
'Different odd and even' option. (It's also a good idea to select the
'Different first page' option for documents set up this way.)
A lot of times, it is a good idea to set up a lengthy document so that
chapters (including TOC and Index) start on the right-side page. This means
that the Odd Page section break is the norm. You can set this in your
template by executing File|Page Setup|Layout and select 'Odd Page' for the
'Section start:' option.
