Hi folks,
Pardon my ignorance of word, I only use it once in a while because the
developers like to dump their info into a word .doc. and then email it to
me. But as you read, this may not be a word problem after all. I don't
know.

Anyway, I'm on a Mac with company-used Lotus Notes. Word's on a pc. (two
computers in my office). When they email me a word .doc to my Mac, I then
email it to my personal acct. (hotmail) which I then access on a pc and
download the file and open it in word on the pc. This isn't that frequent
but a good work around to having to install/buy word for a Mac (if it even
exists). I could reboot the mac and talk to the windows network but I find
emailing it to myself is just easier. Again, it's not that often.

My question is that the last time I did this I wasn't able to open the word
files after detaching them from my personal email, it said something about
check the path or file permissions. And the author didn't set any. But I
can open them from a network drive...

The only thing I can think of is that I changed the security settings on
the aforementioned pc, but have since set it back to default. But I still
can't access my yahoo acct. from the pc even after setting the security
settings back to default.

Thanks for any help. I appreciate it. And I'm ready for any criticism you
can throw at me.
