Anyone else ever have a similar situation? I know that I am only there to work, but interacting with coworkers (outside of work related things) is inevitable.

Jim, I've got ten years on you, and (knock wood) have not had any problem with my age being a factor. We share a love of technology, gadgets, and whatever. I still hang with the "cool" group at work. Sometimes even outside of work. I don't feel like a chaperone - and I make that a conscious thing.

I think that as long as I respect them and recognize that they bring things to the table just like I do, we're all fine. Often, the younger ones are genuinely interested in my experiences, too.

Sometimes they even bring me music or movies to check out. Sometimes it's good, sometimes I have to squint really hard to enjoy it. :-)
