>I told this story to my girlfriend, a graphic designer,
>last night. She said to Photoshop a couple of digital
>pictures of our beautiful Fall colours and maybe one
>of the lakes in my neighborhood and then put those
>in place of two women in the calendar and use THAT as
>the sample.
and then later:
>Please let's just drop this discussion. I DO NOT find
>women in bathing suits offensive---and the whole point
>is being totally missed. It was the layout I was showing,
>the "design" of the calendar part, obviously I had to
>scroll through the models to get to the design.
Well, you *did* ask ... if you stir the pot, you get to
smell the stew ;)
One point that hasn't been explicitly made (unless I missed
it) is that for the purposes of getting work, it isn't the
opinions of other tech writers or graphic designers* that
matter. It's the opinions of those who hire them. You
could get legions of "creatives" to share your opinion,
but if they aren't the ones doing the hiring it may not help
much. Just food for thought.
*Though in the case of your girlfriend, she had a good
suggestion.
