Beats me.  Advancement has been thrown in my path a few times through 
the years, but I can't really say that I feel I've dedicated myself to pursuing it.  
I'm personally quite satisfied to land somewhere in the upper half of the salary 
surveys and have enough socked away to pay the bills for a year just in case.
