Yes, but your own network is people you connect to and 3 more levels outward (people THEY connect to and people THEY connect to....). I've been on since last fall and also belong to 2 LinkedIn groups. When a group is organized in LinkedIn, anyone who belongs to the group can connect directly with anyone else who belongs to the same group without going through the steps to explicitly connect one-to-one with each of them.

Arroxane,

I recently joined a networking service called "LinkedIn"
(http://www.linkedin.com) which allows you to partner up with other
people and search their contacts for old colleagues, potential
business partners, etc. The only drawback is that you can only search
through your own network, but my first contact there is a networking
genius who knows literally THOUSANDS of people, so it pays itself
back. :) It's really neat, and right now, it's free, even in the Beta
stage.
