What most of us read as a Bible is a translation of a translation of a translation... Meaning is inevitably lost when documentation is that far removed from its source material. Also, consider the audience it was intended for. One idea is that it was for a global audience, not limited by time or space. Try making a publication that suits an audience that broad, and you've got quite a challenge. Finally, it's a bit difficult to get information from the subject matter experts. While I occsionally have prayed to understand what my SMEs were talking about, I wouldn't want to do it on this scale!
