I'm just guessing here, but with the majority of software headed in the new "activate and bind to a single PC" world, perhaps the question was more about how one goes about installing the same copy on different machines, even though you are uninstalling or removing the executables.

Again, it's just a guess. Only Kathleen will be able to articulate it properly and say whether I interpreted her question accurately.
