Here is a question that has just arisen with us. Where should we put the
Index for a technical course with multiple volumes? I have selected the end
of the last volume, but would like your input please. Also, where to put the
TOC for the courseware?

I assume it's safe to assume that your index has the volume number as part of the index cross-reference.

What I do when I have multiple volumes is place the index at the end of each volume.

For the TOC, I also place a master TOC in each volume, but in each volume, ether bold or box the TOC section for that volume.
