bookmark numbering missing when converting to PDF

Hi, 

 

When I convert a Word document (word 2003) with several levels of
headings to pdf (adobe acrobat 8 standard) some of the bookmarks do not
show the numbering properly. Some of the bookmarks display correctly
with both the numbering and the title, but some only with the title
which is annoying in an inconsistent way :-(

Also I use to be able to edit the bookmarks - thus 'reparing' this
somewhat minor issue - but this I cannot and I wonder if I stopped being
able to when upgrading to Adobe 8.

 

Has anyone experienced something similar??
