Exactly. So plan to hit "Send" on all your questionable mails
sometime after quitting time, so your recipients might have
Outlook switched off. Then, if you have a change of heart
overnight, you can dash to the office early and attempt the
retrieval.
As for recipients outside the purview of your local Exchange
server, I'm not sure how Exchange interprets the standard
acknowledgements from the receiving servers. Mostly I can't
retrieve, but it's rare that I send to multiple people all
outside the company... and if just a few are inside the
company, chances are Outlook is open (even overnight) and
somebody has "opened" it as soon as I've sent.
In general, behave as though the option doesn't exist, and
your life will proceed more smoothly. :-)
