Why do you think that technical communicators/writers have
any more insight into what makes a better user interface than
the people who design them now? Seems to me that some
of the worst SW I've tried lately has come from developers
claiming to be experienced in the same fields as the users
("SW by <insert occupation here> for <insert occupation
here>").
