In checking my installation of OpenOffice, I see a macro Recorder under
Tools. It may not be the same as that in Star Office?
OO does now come with a database, but probably not the same one that SO
uses.
Yes, you have to download the whole thing each time. For any kind of
broadband, no big deal. For dialup, it could be a deterrent.

Mostly, I like it.
