Make sure you find out if your current PC will support two monitors. I use a dedicated PC for user interface development. I was told that PC <running WXP, so it's not an antique> does not support two monitors. So make sure your PC can handle it.

Compromise -- get one of each!
Seriously. I've been using two 19" CRTs for a long time. The other day,
I was drooling over my boss's new 22" wide-format LCD. She agreed to put
one in next year's budget for me. The wide LCD is terrific for viewing
facing pages in FM or Acrobat. But I'll probably hang on to one of my
CRTs (or try for an LCD replacement) because I'd still like to have
Outlook, Visio, the app I'm documenting, etc., off on their own monitor
to the side.
