I agree with the assessment that Word can effectively handle large, complex documents. I remember giving someone an assignment and telling them to do it in Frame. He responded, "Why go to all the extra effort; can't I just do this in Word?". For our purposes at the time, there was no reason why not. I think there are reasons for using Frame (e.g. structured formats) but overall Word is a very capable documentation tool.
Additionally, I am getting tired of people complaining about the Office 2007 menus. For one, Microsoft did something it rarely does, actually came up with something new. Secondly, it's a real step towards improved UI and I find it very easy to use. Moreover, you need to get used to this as it has been reported that several key Windows 7 apps will follow suit. For those who just can't stand it, use one of the third party menu options or interactive command guides mentioned here in other posts.
