Word 2007 has a booklet layout option... I don't know if it exists in the
Mac world though.

Wrrlers-

I told a local organization that, sure, I'd be happy to put together the
program for their annual auction. I've worked on these before and mistakenly
assumed they would take it to a printer.

However, to save money, they want to use their fancy copier/printer and have
it put the staples in the middle. Somehow, I have to figure out how to get
the pages in the right places so that when they print 8.5 by 11 double-sided
and fold it, it will read in the proper order. I will also have to
accommodate last-minute changes, so I worry that if I carefully figure it
out, some last-minute fantastic item will show up and trash the text flow.

So, what was a simple project has now become one that I am not sure how to
do. (You'd think I would after being a tech writer since the dawn 'o time,
but I haven't encountered this problem.)

I have the following tools: Frame, Pages (Mac), and Word (Mac). I don't have
inDesign.

Does anyone know of an easy way to do this using the tools listed above? Is
there a (free/cheap) add-on that could make my life easier?

Awaiting the collected wisdom of our community....
