Presumably the translator has whatever fonts s/he needs to _make_
the translated document, so I suppose the issue must be whether
they have suitable fonts for viewing your native document in all
its glory, complete with any meaningful special characters and
symbols you might have used.

If you confined yourself to one or two of Microsoft's standard
included fonts, then I can't see where there'd be a problem.

With that said, I'd be interested to hear back what suggestions
anybody got from their translation/localization vendors. What
do they gripe about? :-)

If there's a common thread, it would be nice to know what kinds
of things tend to be important to them - in terms of fonts and
stuff of that nature. We already know to use consistent,
straightforward language, avoid colloquialisms and humor, etc.
