First, try the following in Word:

* Use the Style Area in Outline or Normal view to confirm that the
header styles are being used consistently.
* Use CTRL+Q to confirm that none of the headers were manually
formatted.

If the answers are "Yes" and "Yes," then:

* Remove autonumbering from the Word header style definitions (but keep
the same style names). Use the AutoNumLgl field to apply heading
numbering.
