So if you had troubles in the past with indentations in Word 2003, it
might have been the same cause (and solution) as in Word 2007.
The word "corrupt" gets thrown around a lot when we talk about Word. But
when the solution is in an obscure, fifteenth-level, badly documented
dialog box, I wouldn't call that "corruption" -- I'd call that "typical
MS auto-farkting." I don't consider a document corrupt if there's a menu
command that will fix it.
Having said all that, I try to avoid style-based numbering. I use
ListNum, AutoNumLgl, and SEQ fields whenever possible.
