The issue with a roll-your-own VPN solution is that all the traffic coming
out of your network is visible to your ISP, so unless your raspberry pi is
located in another country, it won't do much for you. A VPN obscures where
the traffic is going only so far as all the traffic to and from *your IP*
is going to *VPN IP address* rather than google.com, amazon.com, etc. If
you want to hide everything as much as possible from your ISP, subscribe to
a commercial VPN service and get a router that supports putting everything
through the VPN, so that your mobile devices will have their traffic
obscured as well as your traditional PC/MAC.
