Subject:So what do technical writers DO, anyway? From:Joyce Hammock <HBJ -at- NIHCU -dot- BITNET> Date:Thu, 22 Apr 1993 12:50:52 EDT
This list is an answer to prayer! I've been browing
the listserv list for months, hoping I'd find a list
just for tech writers! Thank you Eric!!!
I am a writer/editor at NIH in Bethesda, MD. I write,
edit and coordinate a journal for users of our mainframe
system. In addition, I edit and contribute to user documentation
and provide writing support for technical staff.
I will graduate from the University of MD next month
with a BS in Communication Studies - Technical Writing.
I would appreciate some input from other members of the list.
I am working on a project/proposal to redesign my job responsi-
bilities, and would like to know what other technical writers
do. How broad are your responsibilities, what kinds of docu-
mentation do you work on...other info too, as you'd like to
contribute. I think there are many areas where my skills could
be used more fully...
