At the risk of being one post in a flood of replies, the following
is a quick response to Richard G. Sobocinski's question about STC.

The Society for Technical Communication (STC) is the world's largest
organization dedicated to the profession of technical communication.

Their current e-mail address is >> stc -at- tmn -dot- com <<. The STC
office phone number is 703-522-4114.

IMHO, it is a super organization and worth the $85 membership fee.
I'd be happy to share more info or opinion off list.
