TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
The STC online newsletter needs people who can write about online authoring
systems other than Windows. Particularly interested in people working in Unix
and Mac environments. Story types needed are case studies of going online,
critical reviews of authoring tools, tips and tricks for particular tools
(for beginning to intermediate user audience) and thought pieces on design of
online stuff. Most of the readers are working either on Help systems or
putting once-printed stuff on-line.
No pay, of course, but exposure and articles to add to your vitae.
Deadline for proposals for October issue is August 1.
