I don't see how I ever did without it.Of course I use it for research,
diversion, and to add to my interesting discussions at my morning coffee
club, but I primarily use it as an electronic mentor.

It helps me measure my skills, level of awareness and sophistication
(or lack thereof) against my peers.

I also use it to pay the profession back by helping ut new tech writers.
(Mostly I use my own aol account for this, under a different alias).

I keeps me from being isolated, or getting lost in a big company
