SunSoft Solaris Products Group in the San Francisco Bay Area is looking
for a developmental editor to perform developmental and copy edits on
technical documentation for engineers and users of Sun products. We are
looking for 4-7 years experience as an editor, with emphasis on
developmental editing. UNIX and FrameMaker experience preferred.

To be successful in this position you would be required to:

* Edit new manuals or major revisions of existing manuals, large
complex documents, hardware reference manuals, and application user's
guides.

* Work on various complex and multifaceted documents simultaneously.

* Work with management to define project needs and goals, and to
develop project plans and schedules.

* Develop style guidelines for suites of manuals.

* Contribute to improving the overall quality of technical publications
through participation on various standards groups within and outside of
SunSoft, and by communicating expert information to members of the
technical publications community.
