Depending on the DTP program you use your files might be HUGE. They defenitely
are if you use Winword. I have no experience with Framemaker.

First you should experiment with any of those packers. Most of them are
shareware (PKZIP, ARJ, LHA...). There are even Win95 versions of some of them
(e.g. WINZIP). Some graphics formats like BMP can be compressed by an
interesting factor: by 95...99%, depending on their contents. I once delivered
25 MBs of BMP screenshots on a single disk :-)

If your compressed files are still to large for single disks use the disk
spanning option of many of these packers. If you exceed several MBs quite
often you should think of tape drives. The cheapest (and slowest) are Travan
and QIC 80 drives. They save some 1...5 MB/min.

If you wish to use your tape drive to backup your 2 GB drive you should watch
for the backup speed and storage cost. Travan/QIC 80 tapes are quite expensive
per MB storage. DAT tapes are much cheaper per MB, easily offsetting the more
expensive tape drive.

Greetings from Germany,
Alexander
